Please allow me to say thank you to those in the
Third Congressional that cast your vote for me.
THANK YOU!!!

The election has come and gone. Dennis Moore has been sent back to Washington for another two years. Kris Kobach finally had to admit that he had not won the election. He had to admit admit that he was a loser.

Speaking of winners and losers, lets take a moment to review who and what.

The winners in this race were:

Dennis Moore - he gets to keep his job for 2 more years.

Joe Bellis - yes - me. When I enetered this election, I set my goal at winning more than 7 votes (immediate family members). I surpassed that vote by quite a bit. To me this means that the people of the Third Congressional District do want a voice other than the Democrats and Republicans.

Mike Domer of Overland Park told the Kansas City Star he voted for me "because of Kobach's efforts to appeal to Christian conservative voters. Domer, a Republican, said he was unimpressed with Kobach."

This election had laid the groundwork to build upon for 2006. Clearly over 2% of the voters preferred someone other that Moore or Kobach. This is a victory.

The losers in this race were many:

Unfortunately, the people of the Kansas Third Congressional District are the real losers. Once again our voices will not be heard on the issues that affect us, our families and businesses. All we have to look forward to is two years years of the same old thing from Dennis Moore.

Secondly, the Johnson County Republican Party is finally put into its grave. It is a crying shame that a county dominated by Republicans the way Johnson County is can't even field a candidate that can carry the county. Yes, once again I am referring to Mr. Kobach.

Kris Kobach is the biggest loser in the race. He attempted to go too many different ways in the campaign and lost as a result. He can now go back to teaching about the Constitution that he knows nothing about.

Finally, those that contrbuted to Kobach' campaign. They lost lot in the influence that they were trying to buy.

How big did Kobach lose? One way to look at this is dollars spent in the losing effort. Kobach garnered 141,302 votes and spent (according to opensecrets.org) $940,225. According to the Kansas City Star, the National Republican Congressional Campaign Committee spent about $728,000. This totals over 1.6 million dollars or almost $12.00 per vote.

On the flip side, this campaign spent $76.00 or just over two and one half cents per vote.

Both parties promise to lower taxes and reduce the size and influence of the federal government while increasing the number and scope of government programs is about to be prove yet again to be nothing more than political lies. The increases in budget size and additional programs are staggering. Fortunately for the voters in Kansas' District3, the campaign for freedom and constitutional government is not over.

The time has come to take hold of the reins on Washington and force this out-of-control juggernaut to a stop! With spiraling welfare, social security, foreign aid, and health costs, Washington answers the people's calls to action by throwing money--our money--at its problems.Americans have never been so heavily taxed. Corporations are failing by the score under the burden of high taxes and trade restrictions. The Internal Revenue Service recently announced they would begin 50,000random audits of honest citizens in order to hone their skills for catching the few who commit fraud. The burdens on the American people are crushing us all. Our economy is not in a state of recovery. How can you be recovering with an eleven-digit Federal deficit? How can any country without free trade, with high taxes on earned wages, and ever-increasing violations of civil rights be recovering from anything--except, perhaps, democracy?

The time has come to recover our civil rights. The time has come to end governmental intrusion into our private lives and let us live as free people with a government fully constrained by the Constitution. The time for fence sitting is past. You are either in favor of minimal government and maximum personal freedom, or not. You are either ready to stop giving away half of your earnings, or not. You are either ready to stand up and be counted, or not. The time to vote for your libertys now. The candidate to vote for in Kansas' District 3 is Joe Bellis.
